Here’s a new version of my VMU Backup CD, released on 15/May/2005.

Change list:

  • Icon display added: Now you can see the VMU icon for each save.
  • More saves added: About 200 new VMU saves included.
  • No more miss-classified saves: Now you’ll find only correct saves inside each game title.

Back from the grave… with VMU Backup CD!

Well, I’m back from the grave!… Over a year has passed without doing any development for the mighty Dreamcast!

So I’m posting this note to let everybody knows that I’ve just released my new “VMU Backup CD”!

I guess you’re asking “and what is it?”… in short, its the greatest VMU save collection ever made! (what a humble definition, uh?)

But its not just +3000 vmu saves for over 300 DC games, because everything is packed with this pretty neat VMU app that I’ve coded specially for this disc, so you can browse all the games, see all the saves and read the description of each save.

So, go and grab this 10 Mb selfboot CDI (made with Padus DiscJuggler 4.1) and have fun!

Btw, interface uses: UP & DOWN (digital pad), L & R triggers, A (select), B (cancel) & Y (display credits)

please test this app and post your comments here!

VMU Backup Tool v0.5.3

A new version is ready!

Changes:
+ Almost all the source code has been updated to a object-oriented C++ app.
+ Added free blocks check before writing files to the VMU.
+ Added the option to erase files from any VMU. To erase a file, select the VMU and hold left trigger + “Y” button. Then you’ll have to select the file to erase. For safety, the “ALL FILES” option is disabled in the erase function.

Download at SourceForge

If anyone wants it, I can also upload the scrambled .BIN of any version of my VMU Tool. Right now you can download the source code and/or the .ELF binary.
